The Healer

My professor in photography gave us an assignment, it is about the church called "Apung Mamacalulu". We need to take pictures about the three themes, The Giving Mercy, Receiving Mercy and Asking for Mercy. So, giving mercy is the one that my prof gave me. So when I went to the Apung Mamacalulu church, I started to take pictures of the scenery about giving mercy, but when I saw the child with a wheel chair, I was curious, because there is a note, it says "Humihingi lang po kami ng konting tulong sa anak ko na may sakit" and then some people are going there and they give money to that child. So, I decided to take some pictures of them, because it is the one that I've been looking for. So, after that, I interviewed the mother of that child, she said that her son has an Epilepsy and they don't have money to buy his medicines, that is why they went to the Apung Mamacalulu to pray, then suddenly someone asks the mother, "anong nangyare sa kanya? anong sakit nya?" and the mother said, "epilepsy, pumupunta kame dito para ipag-pray siya". after their conversation. the old woman gave money to the mother, and after that incident, everyday the mother and her son is going there, because for them, going to that church is a blessing for them. The guy in this picture is a healer in Apung Mamacalulu and he gave mercy for that child.

MIYAMIT FALLS

MIYAMIT FALLS IN PORAC PAMPANGA

Miyamit Falls is one of the beautiful places in pampanga.
You can find a lot of beautiful places here in the Philippines like the most well-known Boracay Beach in Iloilo, Banawe Rice Terraces in Bguio, Mt. Mayon in Albay, Underground River in Palawan and etc. but there are also a lot of places that only few of us have discovered maybe because we only focused to the places that we usually seen in the television and internet. Our country is very rich in natural resources but only few of them are being taken of and developed.

I love to travel and having nature trip. Good thing I don’t need to go to other country to enjoy the beautiful scenery. And I never thought that here in Pampanga, we also have this breath taking places aside to the Mt. Pinatubo. Last November 2012 after the All Saints’ Day, my friends told me to go on a nature trip in Porac, Pampanga and said that there is a falls there which is called Miyamit Falls. And they all planned it for a night plus we don’t have a letter of permission to go there. Fortunately, the barangay Captain in Sapang Uwak allowed us and accommodated us. So we begin the 5 hours trekking with the tour guide. First, as we begin to walk in a up’s and down steep road they call it “matarik”.after five hours of walking, we are so exhausted, but when we saw the Miyamit Falls it is all worth it. It’s like a hidden paradise. We’ve never seen such as beautiful scenery here in Pampanga. So I started to take pictures in it for my portfolio and evidence that I survived walking in an 8 mountains just to see and enjoy it myself.
